USA Psyche Reverberates To Bush
(Conspiracy Nation, 08/26/06) -- Within about 24 hours of USA prez George W. Bush having stated, "These aren't joyous times. These are challenging times... and they're straining the psyche of our country," the psyche of the nation responded. Reverberating to Dubya's "straining the psyche of our country" statement, the nation's psyche almost immediately showed signs of strain.

Also intersecting with the psychic reverberations was astrologer Mark Lerner's (astrology.yahoo.com) sky pattern analysis issued at 2 a.m. CST on August 25th, before the concentric waves manifested. A "temporary and yet acute martialization of the psychic atmosphere," was Lerner's forecast.
"Psyche" is from the Greek word for "soul." Matter-bound scientists have conducted experiments weighing bodies at moment of death. A soul leaving the body should be detectable by weight, they reasoned. Factoring in the weight of the final expiration of breath, the precise measurements revealed no soul, declared the positivists.
The scientists rely on the five senses for their analyses (theoretical physics and mathematics excepted). To the scientists, the five senses are the be-all and end-all. Anything not detected via the human sensory apparatus is deemed not to exist. In this way, the scientists are like the ostrich, which buries its head and therefore does not see any predator. "If I can not see the predator," reasons the ostrich, "then the predator does not exist."
George W. Bush's "straining the psyche of our country" statement is like a pebble dropped into the pond. We see the concentric waves emanating from the event, but do not see the underlying force.
Last Judgements
Emmanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) had been your typical scientist until, at age fifty-six, he entered into a spiritual phase of his life, where he experienced visions of the spiritual world and claimed to have talked with angels, devils, and spirits. He left copious notes of his encounters. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedenborg)
Concerning the so-called "Last Judgement," Swedenborg corrected the notion. In fact, there are Last Judgements (plural). These occur somewhat routinely and are not "Jesus on a cloud." There is usually an equilibrium in the subtle world between demons and angels. At times, the demons become predominant however. When this happens, the Deity causes an influx of spirit, the "heat" of which drives away the demons. In this way, "the wheat is separated from the chaff." (Emmanuel Swedenborg, edited by Michael Stanley. ISBN: 1-55643-467-7)
Regarding the Islamic faith, incidentally, Swedenborg was sharply opposed to the Christian doctrine of the Trinity. Instead he claimed that the three were different aspects of the one God and that divinity is impossible if divided into three entities. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedenborg)
The Chosen People
Jews are claimed to be "the chosen people." From Swedenborg's conversations with Biblical figures such as Paul, Jesus, Moses and Abraham, as well as with non-Christians, primarily Plato, and Cicero, the seer was able to divine how the Jews were "chosen."
In long-gone times, before the Flood (which wiped out Lemuria, by the way -- http://www.shout.net/~bigred/LemMind.html), mankind were a "celestial people" in conscious contact with the angels. This is why, in the Old Testament, human encounters with angels are not unusual.
The angels did not go away (contrary to scientists), rather the spiritual sight (pineal gland?) grew dim. The ancients, who had a knowledge of "correspondences" (e.g., "As above, so below"), made for themselves images corresponding to heavenly things.
Later, though, the knowledge of correspondences was lost. Posterity began to worship as holy the images themselves.
This worship of the images led to idolatry. Also, a perverted knowledge of the correspondences led to practices of an evil nature, i.e., sorcery.
Lest, therefore, the images "should any longer be turned into magical things, the Israelitish people were selected [chosen]... That people were of such a character that they could not fabricate anything magical out of [the images]; for they were altogether in externals [like the scientists], and had no belief in the existence of anything internal, still less of anything spiritual." (Swedenborg, qtd. in Stanley, op. cit.)
The corresponding images were turned over to the Jews, so as to prevent sorcery. "With people of such a character [the Jews] what is magical cannot exist in the same way as it did among the Egyptians." (Ibid.) Hence, the Israelitish people were "chosen."
